INTRODUCTION Exports are a
major contributor to Malaysia revenue accounting for more than 50% of GDP for over a
decade and are expected to continue to be the mainstay of the national economy.
The globalised world of trace liberalisation offers opportunities and challenges for
Malaysian exporters. In 1999, world exports were valued at USD 5,625 billion, with

quality, consistency and reliability in the delivery of goods and services.
