  Iran,Spain Set to Expand Relations

The Iranian government is very keen to bolster its private sector, particularly in the fields of minerals and non-oil products, said Dr Entezari, vice-president of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines at a meeting with Miguel Marinas, commercial advisor of Madrid's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Dr. Entezari explained that the sharp decline in global oil prices has disrupted Iran's trade, and the economic decision-makers are determined to promote small and medium-size industries. "We believe once the necessary security assurances be provided for the investments of Iranian entrepreneurs residing abroad, we will be able to initiate productive projects in modern agriculture," he added.

Referring to the huge energy reserves of Iran, he said that such resources may help us settle our problems. Yet he conceded that the country has difficulties in the exports sector and this has resulted in illegal smuggling to Pakistan.

The Iranian Chamber official praised the exchange of trade delegations between Iran and Spain as an instrumental factor in the broadening of mutual trade transactions, asserting that it will also prove fruitful for the recognition of the two countries' commercial status. "We need your co-operation and hope to take significant leaps in the deepening of economic relations," said Dr Entezari.
The Spanish official concluded by emphasising the exchange of trade delegations, and urging Iranian traders, aspiring to gain a clearer picture of Spanish industries, to visit the large Spanish Industrial Trade fair, exhibited in Istanbul, Turkey.
