Korea's new chief of Trade Centre has called for the expansion of trade
transactions and joint ventures between Iranian and Korean firms, said a
report from the Public Relations Office of the Iran Chamber of Commerce,
Industries and Mines (ICCIM).
The new chairman of the Korean Trade (KOTRA), Ik Hwan Kim, who was
introduced to the ICCIM by the South Korean commercial attaché, Juan
Jai Hyun, termed Iran's geographical location in the world as
"unique".
"South Korea is willing to promote its economic, commercial and
industrial relations with Iran," said the new KOTRA Chief.
Describing Iran's economic atmosphere as suitable for joint ventures, he
pledged to pay a forthcoming trip to Iran to examine potentials of its
economic and free trade zones.
"In the current Christian year, about five Korean delegations will
travel to Iran to examine joint investments," he said, adding,
"KOTRA should maintain close contact with those firms in order to
convey the latest information on Iran's commercial and industrial
situation."
ICCIM's vice-president, Mir Mohammad Sadeghi said Iran's trade law has
been amended to promote joint ventures in the special economic and free
trade zones. "The government seriously champions legal businesses
and investments," said Mr Sadeghi, who is also the chief of
Iran-South Korea Economic Co-operation Committee. The committee groups
100 private companies, which are vigorously following up the expansion
of mutual trade ties.
The Iranian chamber official praised the efforts of KOTRA chief, adding
that the two countries still have many unimplemented plans for expansion
of mutual ties. |
